The College’s Animal Welfare facilities at the Moulton Campus include a purpose built Animal Welfare Centre, and an on-site commercial veterinary practice. Students studying Animal Management programmes are also taught on the College estate and are given the opportunity to be involved with milking and lambing as well as the chance to work with horses on the equine facilities.
With our courses proving as popular as ever, we are looking to enhance our in house team further by recruiting innovative and experienced sessional workers to make a significant contribution to an already high performing team of staff delivering a range of courses from entry to level 3.
Duties of the role will include, tutoring of one or more courses or groups of students, along with participation in demonstrations and practical activities with students and trainees on all courses. For the delivery of exemplary service to learners, customers and clients, other key areas will be the participation in moderation, auditing and other quality assurance processes.
Applicants will have a broad range of knowledge and industry experience working with a wide range of animals, including small mammals, exotics and large animals. You will have an excellent knowledge base in Animal Health, Behaviour, Nutrition, Welfare & Ethics and have experience working with young people.
Applicants will hold a relevant qualification in an Animal related discipline together with sound administrative and organisational skills. Sound industrial experience will also be an advantage.
Development and support is available to further enhance your teaching skills through our in house development team. You will have a good grasp of current educational initiatives and have a creative and innovative approach to the development of teaching materials.
