Residential Experience Officer

We are looking for a Residential Experience Officer to support and supervise the residential students at the College. The role is full time (37 hours per week) over 40 weeks per year.

This role forms part of the Safeguarding and Wellbeing team who promote a sense of community within College accommodation.

This team is key to the provision of opportunities for students to succeed in their studies, participate in extra-curricular activities and develop positive physical and mental health.

You will:

  • Support and supervise the students in residential provision
  • Facilitate welfare and discipline in the accommodation
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and respect
  • Uphold the Student Code of Conduct
  • Assist the Residential Coordinator with the development of an induction programme for students
  • Plan and encourage participation in social, sporting, community based or other activities to encourage participation in College life

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

  • Minimum of Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English Language
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • A flexible approach to work to allow for evening and weekend working
  • Outstanding communication skills

It would be advantageous, although not essential, to have a recognised qualification in Youth Work or Young People in a Residential Environment.
