Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer

We are looking for a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer to work within our Student Support Team providing care and support to students.

This role will allow you to work as one of the College Safeguarding Officers, implementing the college’s safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures.

A key part of this role will be to maintain accurate and up-to-date records using appropriate college systems e.g. Pro-Monitor, My Concern. You will also provide direct support to learners to improve resilience and attachment in order to support student’s immediate and long-term wellbeing. This may include developing support sessions; drop in services and groups to support students.

The successful applicant will support and participate in the enrolment and induction of students, including residential students as required with particular consideration for students with health and wellbeing needs.

An appropriate first aid qualification, for example, First Aid at Work, a safeguarding qualification, and commitment to and evidence of CPD would be desirable.

Also, experience of working in a similar role or previous experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults would be essential.
