There are 2 multi-purpose sports halls at Moulton, which are used by students and local clubs and national teams. The John Ashby Sports Hall was opened in 2000 and caters for badminton, basketball, volleyball, archery, fencing and karate – with equipment provided if needed. Regular clients include Northampton Fencing Club and the British Paralympic Fencing Team. The hall is also used for events such as the British Powerlifting Championships, martial arts tournaments, and for conferences and college award ceremonies.
We can also accommodate cricket teams with our range of indoor cricket nets, developed in 2011 to support the Cricket Academy players who play at Northamptonshire County Cricket ground.
Our Pitsford Sports Centre opened its doors in 2007. The indoor sports area has a comprehensive range of facilities. There’s a climbing wall, a 40x20 metre free weights area, and it’s also used by well-established futsal, netball and fencing teams. In fact, the centre’s been used by the England futsal and hockey squads as a training base, and is also home to the Great Britain Para Fencing Team, who host many of their training camps on site.
It is clear that the staff working at Moulton College take great pride in their work. The GB Wheelchair Fencing squad use the venue on a regular basis due to the high quality of the venue and customer service.
