You’ve been offered a conditional place with Moulton College and finished your exams. Now, while you wait for your results, we have put together some key things to think about before you join us.
Complete your enrolment
We will send your enrolment instructions in June of the year you are due to begin your course. Then, once you have received your exam results in August, you will be asked to upload these via an online link. You will also need to provide a photograph for your student identification card and then pop into Moulton College to verify your ID and sign our Learning Agreement.
We may also need further information from you, including emergency contact details, medical information and learning support information if these have not already been shared with us, or if there have been any changes.
Plan your journey to Moulton College
More than 1,000 students use the Moulton College transport network of buses and coaches to get to our main campus or our Higham Ferrers site. You can apply for our bus service when you apply for your course. The deadline is 31st July of the year you are due to join us to give us time to make the necessary arrangements and issue your bus pass.
Buses run from a number of pick up points in locations across Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire and arrive at Gate 3, Holcot campus by 8.40 am every week day. Buses leave Gate 3 at Holcot campus at 4.50 pm. Shuttle buses are available to transport students from the Holcot campus to the Moulton or Pitsford sites of our main campus if required, though many students choose to walk between our facilities.

Understand your timetable and course expectations
Spend some time on our website to get an idea of what your chosen course involves, or come along to one of our Open Days, which take place throughout the academic year. This will give you the chance to look around our campuses and chat with our tutors. We also hold taster days in June for our prospective students. You will be contacted about these in April/May to book on.
Depending on your course and whether you have additional English and Maths lessons, students are generally expected at College 3-4 days a week. Work experience, which is a required element on some of our courses, and study days complete the rest of the week.

Check what kit and equipment you need before you start
We have fantastic facilities and equipment available for use by our students and staff; however, for some of our courses, it is necessary for students to purchase tools and specialist clothing such as safety boots. More details on what is needed and where to purchase items can be found here.
When it comes to laptops and tablets, Moulton College operates a Bring Your Own Device policy. You can make use of our charging facilities and WiFi across the College and use your Moulton login details to access our network and use Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
Think about food, breaks and free time
Set across the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, our main campus is home to a vibrant community of students and state-of-the-art facilities to support your studies. These include a Learning Hub and library, a shop, and catering facilities serving a range of meals and snacks, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
You may want to think about whether you will buy food on campus, bring lunch from home, or do a mix of both. Planning this in advance can make your first few days feel easier.
Know where to get support, from wellbeing to careers advice
Moulton College’s dedicated Student Support Team is on hand to provide advice and support both before you enrol with us and during your time here. We have a Wellbeing Hub onsite, which provides daily drop-in sessions and workshops for students. Our wellbeing team can provide direct support or signpost you to external specialist providers where appropriate.
We also offer a careers service to support your next steps beyond college and into the world of work. Our careers advisors are on hand to help you explore opportunities, build your CV and understand the breadth of roles on offer once you leave Moulton College.
