Moulton College is celebrating a positive Ofsted report following a week-long visit from inspectors last month. The specialist land-based college was awarded Good by Ofsted across all areas and praised for the quality of its courses and facilities.
Inspectors singled out the positive attitude students and apprentices show during their time at the College alongside the knowledge and practical skills demonstrated across a range of subjects, including furniture making, bakery, carpentry and equine studies.
Staff were also praised for creating a calm and safe learning environment for students, including those with high needs, and their understanding of the local community and employers. The effective and varied teaching approaches in use across the curriculum were also highlighted, alongside the enrichment activities and careers advice and guidance on offer for students.
Moulton College’s contribution to meeting skills needs was also outlined, with staff praised for actively engaging with stakeholders to align the College’s curriculum with local gaps in areas like agriculture and green skills.

The latest rating follows an increase in student numbers and the reintroduction of Moulton College’s apprenticeship programme, with the College continuing to strengthen ties with local employers to help fill skills gaps. It comes after the recent inspection of Moulton College’s onsite student residential accommodation and services, which were also awarded ‘Good’ status.
