From Heritage Renovations to the Classroom
Gillan Macquarrie joined Moulton College in May 2025, bringing over 20 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry. His professional background includes extensive refurbishment work on Grade II listed buildings, as well as commercial projects across hospitals and schools.
While this is Gillan’s first teaching role, his industry knowledge and practical insight are already proving to be a valuable asset to the department as he transitions into education.
"Although I’ve only just started and have mostly been shadowing so far, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the mix of personalities in the classroom. It’s a great environment to be part of."
Outside of work, Gillan enjoys fishing, following rugby—especially the Northampton Saints—and has recently taken up golf.
