Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

At Moulton College, we are proud to be a diverse and inclusive organisation. We are committed to raising standards in education and training, supporting the skills needs of both learners and employers, and promoting equality of opportunity for all.

We’re also proud to have signed the Association of Colleges (AoC) Diversity and Inclusion Charter, reinforcing our pledge to create a more inclusive environment for both students and staff.

Our goal is to ensure that everyone at Moulton College feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.

AoCs Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Charter Public Statement

In line with the AoC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Charter, we are committed to fostering an environment that values diversity and celebrates the unique contributions of individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, abilities, ages, religions, and sexual orientations.

I've found that the College is inclusive and my teachers are open to talk about any concerns or questions that I may have.

Take a look at all the exciting things you can get involved in when you join Moulton College!

Our learners and staff have been working together to implement the following changes across the college. - Come along and join the team!

This coming academic year we will celebrate a number of religious and cultural events in our canteens by providing food to mark different occasions. From Caribbean food to East Asian treats for Lunar New Year and Middle Eastern cuisine for Eid, they’ll be something for everyone.

Our HE students will be able to join a number of online Networks to connect with other students in a safe space to discuss sensitive issues, organise events and feedback to staff.

The Networks will be monitored by staff and we hope it will allow all students to find a safe, supportive space and allow the college to communicate better with all of our students.

There will be a Black Student Network, Disabled Student Network, Female Student Network, Asian Student Network and Mature Student Network.

This is our first year hosting these networks and we hope to adapt and mould the model to suit all of our students moving forward.

Students and staff have worked together to produce Pronoun badges for everyone to wear on their Lanyards. As a student group we helped in the design of the badges for everyone to wear.

Don’t worry if you want to be known by a different name to your birth name –

At Moulton College student services will change your name on your ID badge for you, this can be done by changing just your name or your whole college profile – the choice is yours.

Our college is a safe & inclusive place for everyone banner

We pride ourselves with being a safe & inclusive college for everyone. To celebrate this a large banner was put up alongside the Construction Services building at Holcot for all to see as they drive in.

Inclusive Language Booklet

Inclusive Language Booklet 1
Language is a powerful tool for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, however, we all know how difficult it can be to ‘get it right’. This booklet has been produced to give a little guide along the way.

What is Equity?

  • Equity recognises that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.
  • Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. At Moulton College we will aim to consider all students and staff for who they are.
