Megan's passion for agriculture naturally gravitates towards livestock. However, the beauty of agriculture is how one interest seamlessly leads to another.
Megan's journey started with lambing, moved to relief milking, and eventually ventured into sales. Agriculture offers a cascade of opportunities; each experience leads to another, fostering continuous learning.
Outside of work, she manages her own flock of bleu domains and rouges, aiming for quality fat lambs. Her partner's farm in Rutland keeps her involved—whether tending sheep or sourcing tractor parts, it's a perpetual cycle of staying busy and muddy, which she cherishes for its grounding nature.
Agriculture students are a joy—cheeky, passionate, and never hesitant to keep her on her toes. Teaching agriculture isn't a one-sided effort; it's a collaborative journey. Practical sessions aren't just about completing tasks; they're about teamwork. Theoretical lessons evolve into lively discussions, sharing experiences and opinions.
The most fulfilling moments are witnessing that 'click' when a concept finally makes sense to a student or encountering former students thriving in their careers, reminiscing about their Moulton days. But above all, it's the students who infuse purpose into her work, keeping every day challenging and rewarding.
I think though, what I love most is the Ag students. They give me purpose, keep me grounded and make every day challenging yet fun.
