Tom Raynor - Deputy Head of Sport & Uniformed Public Services

Tom is the college's Deputy Head of Sport & Uniformed Public Services and has been at the college for over 10 years. He started as a Sports Lecturer and his subject specialisms include Coaching, Psychology, Fitness Training & Sports Development.

Tom has a wealth of experience in educational institutions and has worked in primary and secondary schools and coaching companies. His experience has supported him in working his way into management.

There are many things Tom enjoys about his role including:

reviewing how much a student has progressed from when they first joined to when they leave is truly something special and unique. Being able to have such a positive impact on young lives is incredible, and I believe that is what you get into teaching for.

He also states, his team is incredible. "The dedication they show to our students day in day out is exemplary. Being part of such a team on a daily basis is something I feel very fortunate to be a part of."

Outside of work Tom enjoys spending time with family, playing football and coaching! "I am also a Manchester United fan – which I am not sure is something to boast about of late!"
