Adult GCSE Maths

Study mode Part time
Location Moulton
Level Level 2
Start date 18 September 2023
Duration 1

Adult Maths courses are delivered on Monday evenings, providing anybody over the age of 19, without a formal Maths qualification, the opportunity to develop their key Maths skills for study, work and everyday life, and work towards a recognised national qualification.

Adult Maths courses cover a range of key skills: number knowledge, fractions/decimals/ percentages, measures/shape/space, data & statistics. This knowledge is applied, as much as possible, to real-life scenarios to embed Maths in everyday life and develop relevant problem-solving skills.

No fees.

Monday evening classes from 6-8pm with an expectation of further self-study through tutor-set work or online resources.

All Maths courses are assessed by final exams – three papers for GCSE and two for Functional Skills.

A GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2 are the minimum requirement for most courses at Level 3 and above. Many employers also require these qualifications to evidence the skills considered vital in the modern workplace.

Anyone over 19, without a grade 4 or C in GCSE Maths.

All applicants will complete detailed assessments before courses begin to establish current Maths knowledge and skills, and provide guidance on which course and level is appropriate.
