Adult maths courses are delivered on Monday evenings.

This course provides anybody over the age of 19, without a formal maths qualification, the opportunity to develop their key maths skills for study, work and everyday life, and work towards a recognised national qualification.

Adult maths courses cover a range of key skills including:

  • Number knowledge
  • Fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Measures, shapes and space
  • Data and statistics

This knowledge is applied, as much as possible, to real-life scenarios to embed maths in everyday life and develop relevant problem-solving skills.

You do not have to pay any fees for this course.

You will need to attend college on a Monday evening, 6pm - 8pm. You will also need to complete further self-directed study during the week which will be set by the tutor and may include use of online resources.

GCSE maths is assessed by three exam papers.

A GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2 are the minimum requirement for most courses at Level 3 and above. Many employers also require these qualifications to evidence the skills considered vital in the modern workplace.

Anyone aged 19 and over, without a grade 4 or C in GCSE maths.
