This business course is designed to be the perfect step towards your further study or career within industry and management. Business is a hugely varied and exciting subject area covering sales, finance, marketing and customer insights.
Being a vocational course means that you will have the opportunity to develop your practical and theoretical skills giving you the best start to your career in business.
Business students will learn about the business environment, financial operations and customer care. You will get to grips with management analysis, finance, and performance within a business environment. This will further your understanding of the needs of stakeholders. Throughout this course you will improve your communication skills across both spoken and written formats. Additionally you will learn about the marketing and sales of products and services. You'll also improve your leadership skills by project managing an allocating tasks to meet deadlines. Additional enrichment activities including producing your own campaigns, trips and guest speakers will run alongside your course to develop your personal and life skills.
This is a full time course taking place on three full days per week. There will be a mix of practical and theoretical work which are split into two hour lessons. You will have regular breaks including a lunch break.
There will be ongoing assessment throughout your course which will be driven by both theory and practical study. To prepare you for the world of work, you'll get to complete a work experience placement, and develop your business acumen in a subject of your interest.
You could go on to study a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business or a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business and Administration.
4 or more GCSEs at grade 3 or above
After the first year you will achieve an Award in Business Studies. This will then be boosted to the Level 2 Diploma on the completion of the second year.
