Bootcamps are short, intensive, flexible programmes designed to equip you with the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills. After successful completion of the course you will have the offer of an interview with an employer for a job role related to the course.
Free to study
Skills bootcamps are funded by the Department for Education so there is no fee for the course. Depending on the type of course you may need to buy essential personal protective equipment (PPE). You will also need to make your own travel arrangements to get to College.
Eligibility to study
You need to be 19 or over to do a Skills Bootcamp. For most Skills Bootcamps, you do not need to have any previous knowledge in the subject. You just need to speak a good level of English and have a willingness to learn.
Some courses may have additional entry requirements, such as needing you to have a certain qualification or experience. If there are any, they will be listed in the relevant course details below.
Skills Bootcamps currently available
This Skills Bootcamp will give you an overview on the key aspects of working in this sector and, upon successful completion, you will be guaranteed an interview with an employer in the sector.
To qualify you will need to have a reasonable level of English and maths. You will also need to be able to travel independently to our campus in Moulton, Northamptonshire.
Duration
The course will take four weeks to complete.

Where you will study
This course will be taught through a mix of online and on-campus learning at our Moulton campus, near Northampton.
What you will learn
- Essential skills in food manufacturing - including food safety and hygiene, workplace procedures, production equipment, quality standards, how food products are made and packaged
- Employability skills - communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, reliability and confidence in the workplace
- Lean management skills - how businesses improve efficiency, reduce waste and increase productivity.
Assessment
In order to complete the programme you will be assessed on your understanding of key principles and be observed completing a number of practical tasks.

- Safety & Site Access - Health and Safety training required to earn a Green CSCS Card
- Civil Engineering Fundamentals - Site preparation, setting out, drainage, stormwater management, concrete placement, and buried services detection
- Workplace Skills - Environmental awareness, mental health awareness, and carbon impact management.
