Professional Bakery student Chloe selected for prestigious Renshaw Cup

Moulton College is celebrating the extraordinary baking talents of Chloe Hammond, after she was invited to take part in a prestigious national event.

Professional Bakery student Chloe was selected to compete in the renowned Renshaw Cup thanks to her exceptional creativity, technical skills, and commitment to the craft of baking. The event returned last month after a 21-year hiatus, with a three-day competition held at the British Bakels site in Liverpool.

Chloe competed alongside the UK’s most talented student bakers in a range of technical challenges, as well as expert-led tutorials and a behind-the-scenes factory tour to give finalists hands-on experience in a commercial baking environment. Chloe was praised for her ‘cool and calm’ approach and her ‘lovely, elegant’ bake, which was also applauded for its filling and style.

She says: “It’s such an honour to be chosen to represent Moulton College at the Renshaw Cup. It was great to learn from the experts, meet other passionate bakers, and challenge myself in such a prestigious setting.”

The competition has a history of launching young talent into the baking industry, and highlights Renshaw’s continued commitment to supporting the next generation of baking professionals in the UK. Having been nominated to attend the event, Chloe is automatically named a Renshaw Cup winner.

Rachel Roy, Professional Bakery and Food Technology Lecturer at Moulton College, nominated Chloe for the event. She says: “We are so proud of Chloe for competing in the Renshaw Cup and for the dedication she has shown during her studies here at Moulton College.

She is a creative and talented baker, and we are delighted this has also been recognised by industry professionals. We - and our taste buds - can’t wait to see what the future brings for Chloe!
