Thriving, Wellingborough restaurant Ember, are looking for an apprentice commis chef to come and join their growing and enthusiastic team. Ember offers customers a unique, immersive dining experience, whilst delivering high quality food inspired by BBQ culture across the world.

As an apprentice Chef at Ember, you will be working in and open kitchen environment that will be exciting and fast-paced. Under the direction and mentorship of a head chef you will assist with the production of high quality, freshly prepared food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the production of high quality, freshly prepared food as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Assist with day to day washing up and cleaning as per cleaning schedules and as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Assisting in the implementation and effective discharge of all relevant statutory requirements within the kitchen department. These include health & safety, food safety and fire safety.

Main Duties:

  • Preparing and cooking a high-quality, well-presented food offer as per the menu.
  • To ensure that customer expectations are satisfied and where possible exceeded both in terms of food quality and speed of service.
  • To ensure excellent and enduring standards of both food hygiene/safety and personal hygiene/presentation throughout the kitchen department.
  • Assisting in regular and routine cleaning in line with detailed cleaning schedules.
  • To undertake such other duties and reasonable requests as required by the business or commensurate with the role.

The Ember restaurant are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a passion for creating high quality food
  • Has an enthusiasm for a career in the food and drink industry
  • Has previous kitchen experience and/or studied a relevant course
  • Maths and English at Level 2 standard (desirable)

Towcester based pub, The Butchers Arms, are looking for an apprentice commis chef to join their busy team as they continue to grow their restaurant.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join their fast-paced kitchen team. Working alongside their Head chef you will support with the production of high quality, freshly prepared food.
