About the Role
Northampton Electrical Services Limited is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprentice to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has already achieved a Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification and is looking to develop their skills, knowledge, and industry experience whilst working towards a recognised Level 3 apprenticeship.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical experience across a variety of electrical installation projects while developing the competencies required to become a qualified electrician.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist qualified electricians with electrical installation and maintenance work.
- Support the installation of electrical systems in domestic, commercial and industrial environments.
- Learn how to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Carry out testing, inspection and fault-finding activities under supervision.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
- Complete apprenticeship coursework and attend all required training sessions.
- Develop industry knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job training.
Entry Requirements
Essential
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or above.
- Hold a Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification.
- Have achieved a minimum of Grade 4/C or equivalent in GCSE English and Maths.
- Be committed to completing a Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
- Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career within the electrical industry.
Desirable
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Holds a valid CSCS Card or has successfully passed the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £8.00 per hour (in-line with the national apprenticeship wage)

Wintle Heating & Plumbing is a family-run business working on new housing developments for many of the UK's leading house builders. Operating across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas, we have developed an extensive apprentice programme designed to support and develop aspiring plumbers into skilled industry professionals.
We offer a friendly, supportive working environment where apprentices are encouraged to develop their skills, gain valuable site experience, and reach their full potential.
The Role
This opportunity is ideal for an individual who has already completed a Level 2 Plumbing qualification and is looking to gain practical industry experience whilst progressing onto their Level 3 qualification.
You will work alongside qualified engineers on new-build housing developments, gaining experience across a range of plumbing activities, including:
- First fix plumbing installations
- Second fix plumbing installations
- Commissioning works
- Working to industry standards and regulations
- Maintaining health and safety requirements on site
- Supporting experienced engineers with daily tasks
- Developing practical skills within domestic new-build environments
What We Are Looking For
Essential requirements:
- Completion of a Level 2 Plumbing qualification (or near completion)
- Previous practical plumbing experience
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or Level 2 equivalent)
- Ability to travel to sites within Northamptonshire
- Preferably hold a full UK driving licence or have reliable transport
- Hold a valid CSCS Card, or have completed the Health & Safety element required to obtain one
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good timekeeping and reliability
