Our Level 2 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services is aimed at students wanting a specialist practical and vocational qualification. You will learn a variety of skills and attributes essential for working in the public service sector and you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities.

The course is designed to give students an insight into the practicalities and realities of working within a public service organisation. The course has a range of diverse and challenging topics offering an introduction to the skills you will need when working in the public sector.

Students will learn a variety of modules including teamwork and leadership, outdoor and adventure activities/expeditions, fitness, citizenship and diversity. Students will focus on improving their practical experience and teamwork by getting involved in activities including rock climbing, kayaking and orienteering. In addition to this they will gain an improved understanding of the relationship between public services and the law by taking part in college visits to the Houses of Parliament, Bletchley Park and Courts of Law.

This is a full time course taking place on three days per week from 9.00am - 4:30pm. There will be a mix of practical and theoretical work which is split into 1 to 2 hour lessons, and we aim to have at least one offsite trip each month. You will have regular breaks, including lunch. You may also be required to retake your English and Maths GSCEs if you have not achieved a Grade 4 in either of these.

You could move onto study the level 3 Diploma in Public Services.

You will need to have four or more GCSEs at grade 3 or above to qualify for this course. If you do not already have a grade 4 (C) or above in English and maths you will need to retake this alongside your main qualification.
