Ailsa Harrison - SEND Coordinator

Ailsa joined Moulton College in February 2016 and now plays an essential role as our SEND Coordinator. She supports students with EHCPs, helping them enrol on the right course and ensuring they receive the right level of support throughout their journey with us. Her focus is always on encouraging independence and helping students progress in areas they truly enjoy.

Before joining Moulton, Ailsa spent many years working in Further Education. She has taught maths, English and data handling, delivered teacher training including specialist courses and supported SEND learners in developing their core skills. Her experience brings a calm, reassuring presence to our team and the students she works with.

What Ailsa enjoys most is watching students grow in confidence, especially in our practical learning environments. Many of the young people she supports gain opportunities at Moulton that they may not have encountered elsewhere, and she finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of their development.

Away from work, Ailsa enjoys spending time in her garden and looking after her allotment. She’s also a big fan of films and theatre.

A standout moment of her time at Moulton? Seeing students progress into employment or move on to Higher Education, something she describes as memorable every time.

The best part of my job is seeing students discover what they’re capable of. When they gain confidence, grow their skills and start to believe in themselves, it’s a privilege to have played even a small part in that journey.
