Our Employability Course is designed to support you in developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to find and sustain employment.

You will typically gain skills in:

  • CV writing and job applications
  • Interview techniques and mock interviews
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Time management and organisation
  • Digital skills (e.g., using email, job search platforms, Microsoft Office)
  • Understanding workplace expectations and behaviours
  • Confidence building and goal setting

Depending on your course options you may also study some of the following:

  • Work placements or volunteering opportunities
  • Industry-specific training (e.g., retail, hospitality, construction, Animal)
  • English and maths

A typical week might include:

  • Classroom sessions covering employability topics
  • Workshops on CVs, applications, and interviews
  • Group activities to build teamwork and communication
  • One-to-one coaching or mentoring
  • Independent job search time
  • Guest speakers from local employers or recruitment agencies

Courses can range from a few days to several weeks.

Assessment is usually informal and may include:

  • Completion of a portfolio of work (e.g., CV, cover letter, action plan)
  • Participation in mock interviews or presentations
  • Feedback from tutors and peers
  • A certificate of completion in Employability Skills
  • Employment in a variety of sectors
  • Apprenticeships or traineeships
  • Further education or vocational training
  • Volunteering or work experience placements
  • Improved confidence and job search success
  • Supported Internship

There are no formal entry qualification for this course. It is open to school leavers and students with an EHCP. It is also a good progression from our Pre-Supported Internship programme.
