Results Day FAQs - Prospective Learners

Hopefully all of your hard work has paid off and you have got the grades that you need to progress on to your course here at Moulton College but if not don't panic!

Whatever the outcome - whether you do better than expected, or the results are not what you hoped for - we are here to support you.

Here is our essential guide to everything you need to know about what happens next!

Uploading your results

Check your inbox for an email from the College with a link to upload your GCSE results. This will help save time when you come to enrol. If you can't find the email please check your junk or spam emails.

Contacting the College on Results Day

Our telephone lines are always very busy on Results Day so you may not be able to get through easily by phone. Most of the calls we receive are around the same questions so check out our FAQ section below in case we've already provided you with an answer.

We are still accepting applications for some of our courses, depending on spaces available. We would encourage you to make an application online as soon as possible as it is important that you do not miss too much content at the start of the course.

You can browse all our courses here: Explore by subject | Moulton College

You will have been sent a joining pack and letter which gave details of the enrolment slot for your course. If you can't find this check our online copy of the joining pack - you will find the full timetable for enrolment sessions on pages 9 - 11.

Please come along to your original enrolment appointment where staff will be available to speak to you and help you find the right course for you. Please be aware that some of our courses are already full and no longer accepting applications for 2025 entry but we will try to assist you as much as possible.

Please don't worry. Come along to your enrolment slot as previously advises and one of our tutors will talk you through your options. We offer courses at a range of levels and it might mean that you will have to start your journey at a lower level but we will support you every step of the way!

Congratulations! In some cases it may be possible to move you up to a higher level course, depending on your grade profile however some courses do require you to start at a lower level so that you can build up your key skill profile. When you come along to enrol your tutor will review your grades and discuss the most appropriate level for you to begin your studies.

If you wish to appeal your GCSE results you will need to contact your school. They will be able to advise and support you on the GCSE appeals process and whether this is the right option for you. You should still attend your enrolment appointment with us.

If your GCSE grades were lower than you were hoping for, we will work with you to find a course that is right for you and your ambitions. Please come along to your enrolment appointment.

If you have not yet achieved a grade 4 or above in Maths or English Language you will study these subjects alongside your college course. If resitting in the autumn term is right for you, we will support you to do this at College.

No, if you have GCSE English Literature at grade 4 or higher you do not have to retake English Language.

We are sorry that you are no longer planning to join us this September. So that we can offer your place to another student please let us know by emailing student.services@moulton.ac.uk, we will then cancel your place on the course.

For legal reasons the young person joining the course must do this in person. If they are not able to attend their scheduled enrolment slot for any reason please contact Student Services who will be able to advise when they need to come in for the start of term. We will then complete the formal enrolment process with them.
