Casual Exams Access Arrangements Assessor

This role is to support learners who have additional learning support needs, including those with a diagnosed SEND need and EHCP’s.

The post holder will work within the Learning Support Team and report directly to the SEND Coordinator. They will work collaboratively with learners, their families, schools, colleagues and external agencies. They will also assess and be responsible for carrying out specialist exam access arrangements to ensure learners who require it have the appropriate concessions.

This is a casual role paid on an hourly basis. It is anticipated that the role will be required in the first instance between September and December 2025.

Interviews for this role will be taking place on 19 August 2025.

You will:

  • Contact and arrange testing for EAA those students identified through the referral process
  • Complete Form 8 reports, Form 9 reports, file notes and GDPR forms in line with JCQ regulations
  • Maintain and keep accurate records
  • Promote and demonstrate assistive technology to help promote independence in learners

The skills, experience and qualities of the ideal candidate would be:

  • A sound knowledge of SEND and an understanding of related issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Empathy and flexibility to meet the needs of a variety of learners.
  • Awareness of the SEND Code of Practice and the duties on mainstream FE providers, along with a strong understanding of the JCQ exam regulations.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with the wider Learner Support Team members, as well as the exams team, curriculum and support staff, and other internal and external professionals as appropriate.
  • A relevant certificate in Psychometric testing (CPT3A) or a Level 7 Dyslexia/SpLD in line with current JCQ regulations.
  • Experience in carrying out access arrangement assessments.
