As our Commercial Sports Assistant Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations, supporting large-scale events, and driving commercial growth — all while fostering a safe, inclusive, and vibrant environment for students and the wider community.

You will:
- Operational Leadership: Manage the day-to-day operations of the College Sports Facilities, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and cleanliness.
- Team Supervision: Lead and support the Operations team, including supervising staff rotas and ensuring duties are completed effectively.
- Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers, gather feedback, and respond to issues in line with college policies.
- Event & Business Development: Support and run events, and actively work to grow commercial usage through client meetings and business generation.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, monthly safety checks, and ensure safe working practices across all sports facilities.

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of sports facility operations and customer service.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with confidence in dealing with a wide range of people.
- IT Competence: Confident user of IT systems and software, with the ability to manage data and reporting.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to apply commercial thinking and contribute to income generation.
- Safeguarding Awareness: Strong understanding and commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, with knowledge of relevant policies.
