Residential Experience Officer

At Moulton College, we’re looking for a Residential Experience Officer to join our Safeguarding and Wellbeing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students by supporting their welfare, promoting positive behaviour, and helping them succeed both academically and socially.

This role is full time (37 hours per week) over 40 weeks per year (1pm - 9pm Monday to Friday).

Interviews for this role will be taking place w/c 12 January, 2026.

You will:

  • Build a welcoming and supportive residential environment where students feel safe and valued.
  • Organise and supervise a programme of activities, trips and encourage community engagement and volunteering activities.
  • Provide pastoral care and act as a trusted listener for students’ personal welfare needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and college policies to ensure a secure and respectful environment.
  • Work closely with internal teams, parents, and external agencies to support student wellbeing.

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence to challenge inappropriate behaviours.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

It would be advantageous, although not essential, to have a recognised qualification in Youth Work or Young People in a Residential Environment.

We help new employees settle in through central College induction events and local induction activities. We also provide a range of essential information through our online learning packages. These cover various topics including EDI, Safeguarding, Health & Safety at Work, to name a few.
