Security Officer

We have a large estate and as such our security team provide a front line service in maintaining standards and upholding security arrangements at all times of day and night. We are looking for an individual to join our day shift (6am – 6pm) and our night shift (6pm – 6am) on a rolling work pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off.

Maintaining a safe environment for our students, staff and visitors is a key priority for the college.

You will provide a visible security presence across the site at all times. Our day team will consist of postholders individuals in order to meet the demands of a highly populated site and our night team will consist of one postholder.

Both shifts will monitor our CCTV network and ensure that appropriate action is taken in the event of any incident occurring. During the day you will coordinate regular patrols across the site ensuring you are visible and accessible to all users of the site. This will be especially relevant over key periods such as lunch time and beginning/end of the student day. You will work closely with our on-site Student Welfare team to safeguard all our students and especially our resident students who live on site.

You must hold a SIA Door Supervision or SIA Security Guarding licence. Ideally you will also hold a SIA CTV Licence (although training can be provided if required). In order to cover the site effectively you must be able to drive and ideally hold a clean driving licence. You will have excellent problem solving skills and be able to work on your own initiative while taking a proactive approach to your role. You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to positively represent the College to all stakeholders and clients.
