We are rapidly expanding our Apprenticeship provision and are now looking for a Skills Coach – Agriculture to join our land-based team on a full time, permanent basis.
Agriculture students and apprentices at Moulton College make use of an extensive range of practical resources as an important part of their studies. These include nearly 500 hectares of commercially farmed estate on a range of soil types.
The arable enterprise includes a variety of crops including wheat, oats, oilseed rape and grass. With sheep and beef livestock enterprises, the College also has an extensive range of agricultural machinery and specialist workshops for machinery maintenance.
While we grow our apprenticeship provision in our Agricultural team, this role would involve a mixture of lecturing and assessing apprentice’s work. Therefore, someone who is passionate about teaching and likes to get out and about in the local area assessing apprentices on the ground would be ideal for this role.
Interviews for this role will be taking place on 3 July 2025.
Duties will include the teaching and training of students and other client groups to quality standards set by the college, tutoring and management of one or more courses or groups of students, along with development of agricultural courses.
Further requirements of this role will be visiting apprentices in their workplace. During visits you will set appropriate SMART targets to ensure apprentices achieve in accordance with their programme. You will also plan and deliver training sessions on an individual or group basis and provide feedback to apprentices and employers on progress and performance.
For the full requirements of the role, please see the Job Description and Person Specification.
You will hold a relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above and already hold (or be willing to work towards) a Level 4 teaching qualification. You will have up to date knowledge and experience of working in Industry.
Ideally you will also hold an Assessor qualification although this is not essential as this can be supported during the early stages of employment if required.
You will need a full driving licence and your own transport to be able to effectively visit employers and apprentices on site.
You should have current knowledge of how to access up to date and valid Information, advice and guidance and thorough knowledge of forms of assessment to identify individual needs. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate giving effective and constructive feedback to individuals.
For the full requirements of the role, please see the Job Description and Person Specification.
