We are rapidly expanding our Apprenticeship provision and are now looking for a Skills Coach in Electrical & Installation to join our team.
You will be responsible for delivering Apprenticeships and other competency based qualifications in a variety of settings to meet agreed performance standards. You will support recruitment to these programmes by operating with integrity to ensure that individuals are matched to the right course for them but completing thorough assessments of prior learning.
You will need to visit apprentices in their workplace and should be comfortable travelling on a regular basis. During visits you will set appropriate SMART targets to ensure apprentices achieve in accordance with their programme. You will also plan and deliver training sessions on an individual or group basis and provide feedback to apprentices and employers on progress and performance.
You will hold a relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above and already hold (or be willing to work towards) a Level 4 teaching qualification. You will have up to date knowledge and experience of working in Industry.
Ideally you will also hold an Assessor qualification although this is not essential as this can be supported during the early stages of employment if required.
You will need a full driving licence and your own transport to be able to effectively visit employers and apprentices on site.
You should have current knowledge of how to access up to date and valid information, advice and guidance and thorough knowledge of forms of assessment to identify individual needs. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate giving effective and constructive feedback to individuals. You will have experience of working in accordance with qualification and assessment frameworks and dealing with a range of external bodies. As such you will also have excellent time management and organisational skills to enable multiple projects to be worked on simultaneously.
