Veterinary Industry Skills Coach

We are looking for a Veterinary Industry Skills Coach to join our Animal Welfare & Management Team.

This is a key role for the delivery of our Veterinary Industry Apprenticeships, Diplomas and other competency-based qualifications.

You will:

  • Deliver Veterinary Industry Apprenticeships, Diplomas and other competency based qualifications
  • Provide initial advice and guidance to applicants to ensure recruitment integrity
  • Assess applicant’s prior learning and ensure that their starting point is accurately measured
  • Perform the role of Skills Coach in accordance with awarding body guidelines and occupational assessment strategy
  • Deliver vocationally relevant sessions to veterinary industry students at level 3 or level3 as required

You will be a registered nurse (RVN) with at least 3 years’ experience in the veterinary industry.

Ideally the post holder will have previous experience running apprenticeships or working as a clinical coach supporting student veterinary nurses. The post holder should be familiar with the RCVS regulations for veterinary nurses and willing to learn the awarding organisation's rules and requirements if no previous experience is held.

There is a requirement for access to a vehicle and a full driving license due to the need to travel to employers and carry out training and reviews.

Ideally the post holder will hold a teaching qualification and also an assessing qualification, or be willing to work towards this.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for liaising between vocational and apprenticeship teams at the College and developing relationships with employers.
