Security Officer

You will maintain a visible and reassuring security presence across the campus at all times. Our daytime team is structured with multiple officers to meet the needs of a busy and highly populated site, while our night provision is supported by a dedicated single postholder.

Across both shifts, you will monitor the College’s CCTV network, responding promptly and appropriately to any incidents. During the day, you will carry out regular patrols to ensure you remain approachable and accessible to all site users, particularly during key periods such as lunchtime and the start and end of the student day. You will also work closely with the on-site Student Welfare team to support the safety and wellbeing of all students, with a particular focus on those residing on campus.

For the full requirements of the role, please see the Job Description and Person Specification.

You must hold a SIA Door Supervision or SIA Security Guarding licence. Ideally you will also hold a SIA CTV Licence (although training can be provided if required). In order to cover the site effectively you should be able to drive and ideally hold a clean driving licence. You will have excellent problem solving skills and be able to work on your own initiative while taking a proactive approach to your role. You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to positively represent the College to all stakeholders and clients.
