A partnership with Rugby and Northampton Athletics Club, UK Athletics and Northampton Athletics Club, our Athletics Academy trains at our olympic size, 400m, 8 lane, outdoor athletics track which allows students to develop their skills to a higher level while continuing with their education.
Our track is also includes:
- Clubhouse with male and female changing rooms, showers, classroom, toilets and office.
- Onsite parking
- Floodlights
- Steeplechase
- Throwing cage
- Javelin Runaway
- Shot Circle
- 4 sand pits
Students regularly compete in British Colleges Sport and local and regional athletics competitions and are also encouraged to gain a coaching qualification, as well as a first aid certificate, functional skills and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, in order to improve their overall employability.
In order for you to be selected into the Athletics Academy, you must first have applied or have been accepted onto a course at Moulton College. Then you will be expected to attend one of our trial days which are usually scheduled in the May Half-term and/or in one of the summer months.
If you are successful in receiving an offer for the Athletics Academy you will need to pay a £140 kit fee. This will provide you with a range of clothing which you will need to wear to all training sessions and competitions. All Athletics Academy students must purchase this prior to starting college.
